SSW plants 14,500 trees
in climate positivity
project

At Smith Stone Walters, we are committed to improving our climate credentials and working towards better business practices that not only benefit our clients, but our planet too.

We have already taken steps as a business to help us reduce our carbon footprint, such as operating a completely paperless file management system alongside travel and emission reduction schemes, but we want to do more.

With this in mind, we have partnered with Ecologi, an environmental organisation based in the UK which funds global reforestation projects. Through this partnership, we have pledged to plant five trees for every visa instruction we receive.

Our progress so far

We are delighted to share that to date, our progress is as follows:

  • 14,500 trees planted
  • 75 tonnes of carbon reduction
  • 11 climate projects funded.

That’s equivalent to 58 long haul flights, 225 metres squared of sea ice saved, or 186,075 miles driven in a car! You can view the ‘SSW Forest’ for yourself and follow our progress here.

How it works

Through our partnership with Ecologi, SSW has set a business goal of planting 250,000 trees by 2030. Each time we receive a new visa instruction from a client new or existing, we will plant five trees.

Ecologi works with tree planting partners who responsibly plant the trees on our behalf. The project also provides fair-wage employment by hiring local villagers to grow, plant and guard the forest restoration sites, providing a consistent income to poverty-stricken communities.

Help us reach 15k!

We are delighted with the progress we have made in our tree planting project so far, and we would like to thank our clients who have helped us achieve this.

We know it won’t be long until we reach our next milestone of 15,000 trees. Want to help us get there? If you have an immigration case you’d like our help with, contact us today to speak to a member of the team.
