The RLMT – where to advertise
Part 2 of ‘Your guide to a compliant Resident Labour Market Test’
Conducting an RLMT (Resident Labour Market Test) which complies with the UK Immigration Rules can be a daunting prospect. This six-part guide breaks down what you need to know about the process, helping you to understand how to complete a compliant RLMT step by step.
Part 1 introduced the basic elements of a compliant RLMT and we will now look at where the role must be advertised.
Where must we advertise the role?
You must advertise the role on at least two approved recruitment platforms and each advertisement must run for a minimum of 28 days. The adverts can be run simultaneously or one after the other.
Advertisements must be published on:
- Universal JobMatch (or on Jobcentre Online for jobs based in Northern Ireland) and
- one other platform such as a national newspaper or professional journal, or a professional recruitment website such as LinkedIn, Monster, Reed, TotalJobs, and Fish4.co.uk.
It is worth noting that there are separate rules for graduate recruitment programmes, roles offering an annual salary of £72,500 or more, multi-national/global organisations and those with over 250 permanent employees in the UK.
Contact our UK immigration experts for more information on this stage of the RLMT process.
Look out for Part 3! This stage focuses on the advertisement itself and the information which must be displayed in order to comply with the Immigration Rules.
