New visa scheme for Kuwaiti nationals

A new electronic visa waiver (EVW) system for Kuwait has been launched by the Home Office, designed to make it cheaper and easier for Kuwaiti nationals to travel to the UK for tourism and business purposes.

The scheme is currently being piloted, with travelling Kuwaitis being selected at random and invited to partake. Should it prove to be a success, EVWs will be introduced early next year.

Costing £15 each, the new EVWs will remove the need for applicants to provide their biometric data, attend a visa application centre and hand in passports in advance of travel.

Instead, Kuwaiti nationals will be able to visit the UK for a maximum period of six months by simply filling in an online form at least 48 hours before they travel to the UK.

Unless you are selected for the pilot, however, a full visa and the application process which goes along with it will still be required for any travel to the UK until EVWs are officially introduced in Kuwait.
