New immigration rules for non-EEA graduate trainees!
From October this year, new measures are expected to be introduced which will grant employers more freedom to recruit non-EEA graduates easily and at a lower cost.
The minimum salary requirement for a Tier 2 Graduate Trainee will be lowered for applications submitted as of October 2016, as the UK government plans to reduce it from £24,800 to £23,000.
The government is also expected to increase the number of Tier 2 Graduate Trainee places available to each UK sponsor licence holder from five to twenty places each year.
This rule change will increase the number of non-EEA trainee graduates which UK sponsors are allowed to employ per year, and will be combined with another relaxation in the immigration rules surrounding graduate hires.
