New EEA online application system trialled by Home Office
Smith Stone Walters is able to confirm that the Home Office is currently trialling a new service for EEA nationals seeking to register their UK status.
This pilot scheme has been introduced as the Home Office looks at ways to streamline its application processing systems.
With the number of applications from EEA nationals expected to rise significantly following the Brexit vote, the new Access UK online application form has been made available for those European Economic Area (EEA) nationals seeking to secure either a residence document or permanent residence.
The trial is currently open for a limited time and to single applications only. Families seeking to apply will be required to follow the normal processing route.
