Migration Advisory Committee announces EEA roadshow
The Migration Advisory Committee (MAC) has announced a series of regional events around the UK in an effort to meet and take evidence from stakeholders on EEA and international migrant workers.
Following the Home Secretary’s decision in July 2017 to commission the MAC to provide evidence-based advice on the impacts of ‘Brexit’ on the UK labour market, it is hoped these meetings will enable the MAC to collate meaningful feedback from relevant parties.
The MAC’s representatives will be available on the following dates at the following stated locations:
- 2 October – Coventry/Birmingham
- 5 October – Manchester
- 6 October – Cambridge
- 11 October – Herefords and Worcestershire
- 12 October – Doncaster
- 18 October – Nottingham
- 23 October – Ipswich
The full itineraries for these visits are still being worked out. Additional visits to Northern Ireland, Wales, Lancashire, the south west and south east of England will also shortly be announced. Call for Evidence
In order to fulfil its commission and provide an informed response to government, the MAC seeks views and evidence from anyone with relevant knowledge, expertise or experience. It welcomes views from a wide range of interested parties from all parts of the UK such as business owners, employers, recruiters, trade unions and academics.

with a modern industrial strategy, the MAC would like to hear from you.
Evidence should be provided via its published Call for Evidence and submitted to the MAC by 27 October 2017.
