Licenced Sponsors: The Home Office wants your views!

The communications team at the Home Office has recently reached out to businesses holding a sponsor licence to invite them to take part in a new survey.

The survey aims to gather information from businesses already approved as sponsors, to help the Home Office understand the needs of licenced sponsors and their level of awareness regarding the upcoming changes to UK immigration.

The results of the survey will be used to improve lines of communication and engagement between the Home Office and sponsors ahead of the implementation of the UK’s new points-based immigration system on 1 January 2021.

During the survey, you will be asked a series of questions about your experiences as a licenced sponsor, and information about your organisation, including:

  • Your organisation’s sector, location, number of employees and your position within the company
  • Information on how your company is currently making use of its sponsor licence, including Tiers, CoS allocations and whether or not you are signed up to the Home Office’s paid-for premium customer service for sponsors
  • Your knowledge about the upcoming changes to the UK’s immigration system.

Smith Stone Walters would encourage sponsors to take the time to complete the survey, as all feedback received will help to directly shape Home Office communications and guidance going forward.

The survey should take no longer than 15 minutes to complete and all responses are anonymous. To take part in the survey, please click here.

Help with preparing for the UK’s new immigration system

The UK’s immigration system is changing. From 1 January 2021, the UK will end Freedom of Movement from the European Union (EU) and implement its new points-based immigration system.

The new rules bring major changes to the way businesses can hire skilled labour from the EU, and employers will need to adjust. Whether you are already a licenced sponsor seeking guidance on the new rules, or if you are looking for support with applying for a licence, Smith Stone Walters is here to help.
