Secure training in Brazil via this specialised visa route
Brazil’s Trainee visa may be granted to an immigrant, without an employment relationship in Brazil, who is affiliated with a foreign company to receive professional training at a subsidiary, branch, or Brazilian headquarters belonging to the same economic group.
Eligibility requirements
To be eligible for this visa, applicants must show:
- Proof of the relationship between the Brazilian subsidiary, branch, or headquarters and the foreign company of the same economic group.
- Proof of the relationship maintained between the immigrant and the foreign company belonging to the economic group.
How to apply
This visa requires approval from the Brazilian Ministry of Justice and Public Security, who will send the authorisation to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
The application procedure is initiated in Brazil by the Brazilian sponsoring company with submission of the pertinent application and supporting documents to the Brazilian Ministry of Justice and Public Security.
This visa can be requested for stamping at the Brazilian Consulate abroad or already in the national territory. Once approved by the Migration Authorities, the visa will be published in the Federal Official Gazette within a period of 4 days. After the publication, the foreigner will be able to collect the visa at the Brazilian consulate and enter Brazil to register with the Federal Police.
Processing times
The Trainee visa has an estimated processing time of 45 days.
How long you can stay
The maximum residence period granted under a Trainee visa is two years. After this time, the visa cannot be renewed or extended.
Permitted activities
Professional training is considered as an activity that aims to develop skills and knowledge through practical work.
