SSW virtually walk length of
UK in aid of Rainbow
Trust

SSW is proud to support the Rainbow Trust, a charity that provides support to families with seriously ill children. Throughout lockdown, staff at SSW have been taking part in a series of at-home fundraising events to enable us to continue supporting the Rainbow Trust whilst working remotely.

Following the success of our previous fundraisers, we recently set ourselves the biggest challenge yet by attempting to virtually complete the distance equivalent of travelling from Land’s End to John O’Groats (the length of the UK), via the SSW office in Bromley.

The challenge was to keep active, so any form of exercise staff completed each week was converted into virtual miles covered on the map. Participating staff had a total of three weeks to run, walk, cycle, row, dance, or HIIT workout their way to the 953 mile target.

It was a tough challenge, but thanks to some fantastic efforts from staff we are delighted to say we completed the virtual journey in the allotted time and raised a total of £710 for the Rainbow Trust.

All money raised will go directly to the Rainbow Trust to help support the vital work they are carrying out in the community during this difficult time.

About the Rainbow Trust

Despite lockdown, the Rainbow Trust has continued working hard in the community delivering its essential support services to families with seriously ill children.

Unfortunately, due to the current lockdown restrictions, many charities like the Rainbow Trust have been impacted by the lack of fundraising events and activities that would normally generate much needed income to help fund their services.

Our fundraising efforts have always been directed from within, by our staff. That’s why, whilst we all continue to work from home, SSW fundraising initiatives enable us to join forces remotely to raise much needed funds for a cause we all believe strongly in.
