The Secretary of Homeland Security, in consultation with the Secretary of State, designated Poland into the Visa Waiver Programme on November 1, 2019 after determining it met all programme requirements.

Poland’s participation in VWP went into effect on November 11, 2019. Polish nationals can now apply to travel to the United States for tourism or business purposes for up to 90 days without obtaining a U.S. visa.

Prospective travellers will have to obtain an approved travel authorisation prior to their travel to the United States. Applications should be made at least 72 hours in advance of travel through the Department of Homeland Security Electronic System for Travel Authorisation (ESTA). The estimated average time to complete this application is 23 minutes!
