UK immigration -
our New York
numbers!

2017 has been an exciting few months for the Smith Stone Walters teams around the world – and none more so than for our entry clearance team based in New York.

The team facilitates the important stage in the visa application process of gaining clearance to enter the UK. Clearance is given on the ground in the country of application, in this case at the British Consulate-General, and checks that the applicant qualifies to enter the UK under the Immigration Rules.

The New York team services the entry clearance needs of our clients in the Americas and the Caribbean, and between January and March this year processed a grand total of 105 entry clearance applications on behalf of main applicants and 33 on behalf of dependant applicants!

The types of applications submitted covered a wide range of UK immigration needs including the Tier 2 General and Intra-company Transfer skilled work visas, Tier 1 for high-net worth individuals, settlement, family reunion and European nationals.

By using the priority service, many of these UK visa applications were concluded and approved within days – now that’s service!

With Brexit negotiations underway and the recent introduction of new Immigration Rules designed expressly to deter UK employees from looking abroad for their next UK hire, our teams operate in an increasingly difficult environment.

Against this backdrop of uncertainty, the provision of such high levels of proactive service is no small feat and we are proud to continue supporting the business immigration needs of our clients in this way.
