UK Immigration
fees
2017/18

The Home Office has published its indicative UK immigration fees for the year beginning 3rd April 2017 for all immigration and nationality applications.

The new fees apply to all applications as of 6 April 2017 and contain some substantial increases.

The cost of Tier 1 and Tier 2 visa applications has increased by an economically-aligned 2%, whilst fees for settlement, Indefinite Leave to Remain and priority services have seen far larger rises of over 20%.

The newly-introduced Immigration Skills Charge is likely to blow any impact made by the new fees out of the water, however, with employers being charged £1,000 p.a. for every new skilled hire from outside the European Economic Area (EEA) as of 6 April 2017.

Employers are therefore advised to look ahead to their UK recruitment needs for the coming year and budget accordingly for any potential need to hire from outside the EEA.
