The Tech Nation Visa Scheme has been granted an increased endorsement allocation for Tier 1 Exceptional Talent visa applications.
Introduced in November 2015, the scheme aims to facilitate the entry of highly skilled and innovative digital technology professionals into the UK and enables government body Tech City UK to endorse up to 200 Tier 1 applications per year for the Exceptional Talent visa category.
Due to the scheme’s rising popularity, however, the government has increased this endorsement allowance to 250 applications per year.
This move is also thought to be a response to industry concerns that immigration policy towards EEA nationals looking to work in the UK may stiffen once the UK leaves the European Union.
