Cheesegrater!

SSW’s Digital Marketing & Communications Lead, Lucy Campbell-Woodward, recently took part in the Grate48 challenge by the Rainbow Trust, which offered the chance to climb one of the UK’s tallest buildings for charity.

Along with 221 other energetic souls, Lucy climbed 48 floors and over 1,200 steps, to be rewarded with spectacular views across the city of London. This is the first time the challenge has ever taken place in the iconic Leadenhall Building, one of the most prominent features of the London skyline. It is the UK’s tallest stair climb and definitely not a challenge for the faint-hearted!

Many people, including our very own Lucy, ran some of the way and the fastest time recorded was 6 minutes 58 seconds! Lucy came in 96th out of 222 participants with a very impressive time of 12 minutes 23 seconds.

“It was really well organised but the stairwell was a bit chilly! We were motivated by RT volunteer cheer squads and cameramen along the way! At the top, pictures were taken against the sunset-lit London skyline before the lift took us down for a glass of fizz at the bottom.”

Well done to Lucy for her sterling effort and for raising much-needed funds for Rainbow Trust.
