UKVI now
charges for
email enquiries

UK visa applicants are now being charged for any email enquiry which is sent to UK Visas & Immigration (UKVI) regarding an out of country application.

The Home Office began using a new commercial partner to handle enquiries on 1 June 2017. As a result of this partnership, a number of changes have been made to the way in which customers can communicate with UKVI, the government’s immigration department:

  • all phone numbers and opening hours have changed
  • the number of languages offered (including English) has reduced to eight
  • any email enquiry made to UKVI regarding an out of country application will cost £5.48

Payment for email enquiries must be made using a debit or credit card and this one-off payment covers all subsequent emails relating to the enquiry.
