Applying
for a UK visa
from Hong Kong?

If you are coming to the UK as a resident of Hong Kong the chances are you will need to take a tuberculosis test as part of your application.

All residents of Hong Kong planning to come to the UK for a period of six months or more must present clear tuberculosis test results as part of their UK visa application.

This test must be taken at one of five approved test clinics in Hong Kong, in order for the results to be accepted by the Home Office.

Please click here for the list of Home Office approved test clinics, their contact information and opening times.

Making your appointment

When contacting the test clinic to book an appointment, you should make it clear that you are taking the test as part of a UK visa application. You can expect to receive an appointment within only a few days of your request.

Attending the clinic

When attending the clinic for your appointment you should ensure that you bring photographic proof of your identity, along with a means of payment for the test fee. If you have undergone a tuberculosis screening, or have suffered from tuberculosis or any other lung disease in the past, you should ensure that you bring any details of this screening with you and if possible, x-ray results and medical notes.
