Whether you are a UK-specific HR professional or global mobility specialist, immigration is currently at the top of the agenda for many businesses and the Global Immigration Breakfast is a great opportunity to explore how your organisation’s growth could be impacted by current immigration issues.
A large part of the breakfast will focus on UK immigration and the review of the Tier 2 entry route which is currently under way. The review covers a whole range of issues and discussions will include the potential skills levy on UK sponsor organisations, changes to the inter-company transfer route and the removal of the ability for dependants of Tier 2 visa holders to work in the UK.
The impact of the migrant cap on UK sponsor organisations will also be on the agenda with our very own SSW Director James Walters taking the time to explain, comment upon and answer questions about the ‘Quota Chaos’ which first hit the UK immigration industry in June 2015.
‘This was the first month since the inception of the Points-Based System to see the monthly limit of 1,650 Tier 2 restricted CoS available for UK businesses completely overwhelmed.
Many requests which would be regarded as legitimate under normal circumstances were rejected, affecting hundreds of employers from across the country.’
Not only will we explore why this occurred and what sponsor organisations and visa applicants can expect over the coming months, but we will also expand upon what could be done in order to prevent a similar situation in the future.
