Visiting the
UK & Ireland
from India?

Visiting the UK and Ireland from India has just been made a lot easier!

Under the new British Irish Visa Scheme, Indian visitors to the UK are now able to visit the UK and the Republic of Ireland (ROI) using a single visit visa.

The recently introduced scheme was formally launched last October by the Home Secretary Theresa May and the Irish Minister for Justice and Equality, Frances Fitzgerald, and was initially only available to Chinese customers.

The recent move to open this entry route up to Indian nationals will make it easier and more attractive for Indian travellers to visit both countries during the same trip by using a single, short-stay visa.

Prior to the introduction of this scheme, Indian tourists wishing to visit both countries during their travels were forced to obtain two separate visas if they wished to travel from the UK across to ROI or vice versa.

How to apply…

If you want to apply for any Irish or UK visa, you will need to use the shared Visa Application Centres across India to submit your application and your biometric information. Short-stay visit visas are commonly issued for the purposes of visiting family or friends, tourism, business or attending a conference or event.
